Ground beef or turkey ½ #
Onion (chopped) ½ cup
Tomato sauce 15 oz can
Water 1½ cup
Garlic (or garlic powder) 4 cloves
Oregano 1 teaspoon
Basil ½ teaspoon
Uncooked noodles (½ inch wide) 3 ups about 4-5 oz
spinach frozen 10 oz thawed and drained
Low-fat cottage cheese 1 cup
Mozzarella cheese (part-skim) 4 oz
Serves 6
1. brown meat thoroughly be sure there is no pink color left in the meat or juices.
2. Drain any excesses fat from meat. Rinse with hot water.
3. Combine drained meat with onion, tomato sauce, water and spices. Cover and bring to a boil.
4. Add noodles. Cover and simmer 5 minutes.
5. Stir spinach into mixture in skillet
6. spoon cottage cheese on top and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese
7. cover and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
