Feel the Beat, Fight Hunger

Heartbeat for Hunger, August 1 fundraiser for the food shelf.

Heartbeat For Hunger

Get ready for an unforgettable summer evening on the shores of White Bear Lake! The White Bear Area Food Shelf is excited to bring the music back to White Bear Lake County Park for the annual Heartbeat for Hunger concert on Saturday, August 1, from 6 to 10 p.m.

Heartbeat for Hunger is free and open to everyone. Instead of purchasing a ticket, guests are encouraged to make a cash donation to support the White Bear Area Food Shelf and the thousands of local families who rely on its services each month. Whether it's $10, $50, or more, every dollar helps provide nutritious food and critical support to neighbors facing food insecurity. Gather your friends, enjoy an evening of incredible music on the lake, and consider making a generous contribution to strengthen our community and ensure that no one has to face hunger alone.

Last year's Heartbeat for Hunger event raised more than $55,000 for the food shelf, helping ensure that thousands of local families have access to nutritious food and essential support. We hope to build on that success and bring our community together once again for a memorable night with a meaningful impact.

Music on the Beach

Returning for a second straight year as the headlining act is NUNNABOVE, a rising Twin Cities band made up of siblings Cadence, Mattie, Bennett, and Wisdom. Blending elements of funk, jazz, rock, and neo-soul, NUNNABOVE has quickly gained attention for its unique sound and dynamic performances.

The group was featured at Prince's Paisley Park Celebration in 2023, where they were recognized as one of the event's standout performers. Their growing list of accomplishments includes opening for Chaka Khan and Boyz II Men at the Minnesota State Fair.

Joining the lineup is special guest Frankie Torres, a Minneapolis-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose modern blues-rock style has earned her spots on stages including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Lollapalooza, The Taste of Minnesota, and NBC's The Voice. Known for her powerful vocals and high-energy performances, Frankie continues to make a name for herself as one of Minnesota's emerging musical talents.

Food, Drinks, and Summer Fun

In addition to fantastic live music, attendees can enjoy food from local food trucks, beer and seltzers, and a relaxed lakeside atmosphere. Bring a lawn chair, gather friends and family, and spend an evening enjoying some of the best that a Minnesota summer has to offer.

Join us for a night of music, community, and compassion as we come together to help fight hunger in our community. We hope to see you on the beach!
