Community Market Coordinator – FILLED
Role: The Community Market Coordinator will oversee day to day functions of the Community Market including customer service, volunteer engagement, merchandising, and inventory management. They will also supervise a dedicated crew of volunteers and create a rewarding experience for those who are providing direct services to our neighbors.
Terms: Full-Time, $22/hr, robust benefits package including health and dental insurance, retirement benefits, and continuing education funds.
Responsibilities:
- Champion the in-person market to create a welcoming, calm atmosphere for all shoppers.
- Oversee all logistics of market including market operations, food sorting and stocking, and managing inventory.
- Provide an outstanding level of customer service for neighbors.
- Understand and incorporate neighbors’ desired experience, food, and support from the food shelf.
- Collaborate with Food Systems Coordinator and Community Resources Coordinator to deliver programming that matches neighbors’ preferences and needs.
- Train both group and individual volunteers
- Collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator to create an engaging, positive experience for volunteers in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure accurate records and statistics are maintained.
- Conduct regular evaluations of the program to improve service.
Qualifications:
- Retail or grocery experience a plus
- Experience working with groups of volunteers.
- Ability to problem solve and work in a professional and positive manner with high attention to detail in a variety of situations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, must have ability to work as a member of the team and partner collaboratively with employees, partners, and volunteers.
- Must be able to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work in a social service environment.
- Physical ability to load and unload boxes and bags on a regular basis, up to 50 pounds, and be on your feet for long periods of time.
- Bilingual-English and Spanish or Hmong preferred.
- Availability to work during operational hours.
