Gloria’s 11th Annual Food Shelf Shortest Marathon, a ONE BLOCK run created by Gloria Carpenter to benefit the White Bear Area Food Shelf, will be held on Saturday, September 16th on Bald Eagle Avenue (between 3rd and 2nd street) in White Bear Lake. We will start gathering at 10:30 a.m. and the race starts at 11:00 a.m.
The past ten marathons have raised over $104,000 for the Food Shelf!
Your $35 tax-deductible donation per participant ($15 for children under age 12) includes: two White Castles from Mueller Memorial for a carbo-load before the race, a bottle of water halfway down the block, so no one gets dehydrated, AND in celebration of completing the Food Shelf Shortest Marathon, Caribou Coffee and Cub donut holes at the finish line.
Register by September 7 to receive a “I FINISHED THE FOOD SHELF MARATHON” custom t-shirt. T-shirts are not guaranteed if you register after Thursday, September 7th.
Join us the evening before, Friday, September 15, at the White Bear Area Food Shelf (1884 Whitaker St.) between 4-6pm to pick up your t-shirt in advance and get a tour of the Food Shelf. Pre-ordered T-shirts will also be available on the day of the marathon.
Thank you to our sponsors: Abbott Paint, White Bear Country Inn & Rudy’s Red Eye Grill, Donatelli’s, IC System, WBL-VFW Post 1782 and Auxiliary, Northern Lakes Financial, Mueller Memorial, Cub Foods, Caribou Coffee, Aldi, and White Castle.
