The BEAR’ly Open has been an annual event in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, since 2008. Led by community volunteer Ken Galloway, the event was established and hosted by White Bear Events and the White Bear Lake Rotary with the goal of bringing the community together for a day of winter fun while raising funds for the White Bear Area Food Shelf. Over the years, it has grown in popularity and has become a beloved tradition in the area.
Brace yourself for a winter wonderland adventure like no other! The annual BEAR'ly Open Golf on Ice Event is back, turning White Bear Lake into a frozen fairway. Grab your most creative "golf club" – a hockey stick, broom, or even a snow shovel – and hit the frozen links. Prizes will be awarded for Best Costume, Best Sled, and Best Tent. Not a fan of the cold? This frosty fun fest also includes an online auction and a pre-party the night before with live music, games and activities, tasty treats, and a cash bar.
Golf on Ice: Feb 7
Join us on the frozen shores of White Bear Lake for a round of golf! Enjoy two custom-designed, 9-hole courses with your group of friends. Come dressed up for the best costume contest and spend time in the Tent City for music, beverages and treats from local businesses and organizations.
Pre-Party: Feb 6
Kick off the fun the night before at the Pre-Party at the White Bear Country Inn. The evening begins with a social hour of fun games and activities, free hors d’oeuvres, and a cash bar featuring the popular Rudytini cocktail. Then dance the night away to live music by local band Wildcat Combo.
Auction: Feb 4-7
Can’t join in person? You can still help by participating in the silent auction where you will find many gifts and experiences donated by local businesses and community members.
The BEAR’ly Open is an official event of the 2026 Saint Paul Winter Carnival.
