Volunteer Coordinator

Job Summary: The Volunteer Coordinator provides overall coordination of the volunteers that support all WBAFS programs

Terms: Part-time, 20 hrs/week, $22/hr, flexible schedule onsite, paid time-off, retirement benefits

Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment: Recruit volunteers for all WBAFS programs through multiple avenues including, company volunteer fairs, community groups, community outreach, events, and others.
  • Training: Train volunteers to deliver quality service to neighbors and the food shelf.
  • Scheduling: Coordinate the scheduling of volunteers in collaboration with the staff team using tools and methods easily accessible to volunteers.
  • Recognition:  Implement multiple approaches to demonstrate appreciation and recognition of all food shelf volunteers
  • Record-keeping: Update volunteer records to ensure all volunteers are current and in compliance with policies and procedures. 
  • Communications: Maintain consistent communications with volunteers to ensure satisfaction with their work with the food shelf

Qualifications:

  • Friendly, welcoming, social disposition
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience leading and/or coordinating volunteers.  
  • Bilingual-English and Spanish or Hmong, preferred.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency and familiarity with web-based software, i.e. SignUp Genius.
