We are hiring for a Community Resource Coordinator!

Responsible for collaborating with and meeting the needs of our neighbors through food shelf programming. Builds community partnerships. Administers the WBAFS Emergency Fund and advocates for neighbors.

Job Responsibilities:

Connect neighbors to community resources.

  • Provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed case management services to our neighbors.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of local and county resources. Help neighbors navigate complicated systems.
  • Manage, administer, and report funding usage of the White Bear Area Emergency Fund.
  • Ensures organization’s compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with local agencies and partners to meet the needs of neighbors.
  • Attend monthly and quarterly network meetings.
  • Supervise, train, and coordinate front desk volunteers answering help line. Ensure consistent communication with volunteers including setting clear expectations and recognition.
  • Assist neighbors in signing up for and receiving food delivery service.
  • Maintain knowledge of Mobile Market, Free Farmer’s Market, School Food Pantries, and KID Pack participants and work to connect them to the food shelf and other resources.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Promote the Food Shelf programs throughout the community.

  • Promote services throughout the community by establishing relationships with local schools, service providers, community groups, churches, senior programs, youth programs, and others.
  • Advocate for the needs of our neighbors to local and governmental partners.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements: 2+ years in case management, community outreach.

  • A strong commitment to providing food and support to our neighbors.
  • Strong aptitude to work in a collaborative setting on multiple projects or programs.
  • Working knowledge of local resources in Ramsey County and the White Bear Area.
  • A positive, welcoming attitude and outstanding customer service skills, including handling difficult issues with sensitivity. Ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times and to communicate effectively and appropriately with a variety of people from many cultures and diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills; experience prioritizing projects and working on several projects simultaneously. Efficient and accurate in completing tasks as required attending to detail, and able to anticipate and meet deadlines while working under pressure of multiple and changing priorities.
  • Forward-thinker. High Emotional Intelligence. Skilled Communicator.
  • Understanding of, and investment in deconstructing systems of oppression
  • Ability to sit, and use a computer mouse, keyboard, and monitor, for moderate periods of time (5-6 hours per day)
  • Ability to stoop, crouch, kneel, and/or crawl, lift and/or move objects weighing up to 35 pounds
  • Preferred: Bilingual (Spanish/English, Hmong/English, Somali/English) Candidates with a strong understanding of homelessness, mental health, chemical dependency, and community resources preferred.
