“In a year when so many things did not go right, the Bear’ly Open not only happened but was even more successful than any year in it’s history,” says Perry Petersen, Executive Director of the Food Shelf. “Thank you Ken Galloway and the amazing leadership team for your determination and dedication to creatively pivot and make this event happen. Thank you WB Rotary, our faithful sponsors, and the generous community of WBL for stepping up in these uncertain times. Your support helped raise a record $37,000 to help fight hunger in our community. On behalf of the 1800 neighbors we serve each month, thank you!”
In it’s 14th year, the Bear’ly Open had to make some adjustments to the activities due to the pandemic and replaced the community dance and silent auction with a video gala and online auction. The online auction had several amazing items and the winning bids raised over $13,000!
